Change is the only constant here at the Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi). This week, we introduce a new team member, Holly Greenland, who is stepping into the role of Content and Communications Editor as part of the ALLi blog team changes, taking over from Sacha Black, who now moves into a more strategic role.
If you've spent any time with the Alliance of Independent Authors you'll see particular faces either in the forum or on in posts more than others. Behind the scenes, the team does a huge amount of work that we don't always talk about. So today, we wanted to share some highlights and ALLi team updates from our recent meeting.
The Alliance of Independent Authors AskALLi team strives to bring you the best in content that we can. Which is why we're always making improvements to what we do. This year will be no different. We wanted to bring you some blog announcements and tell you what's coming in 2023.

We've been celebrating ten years of the Alliance of Independent Authors. So far, we've looked at how members create a sustainable business, the history of self-publishing and a celebration of ALLi itself. But today, we're looking at the team members. We've whipped up a special podcast, partially live from London Book Fair and other recordings in-between. Yesterday, today, and tomorrow, this is ten years of the ALLi team.
This year, ALLi revised its Ambassador program. We have always had strong representation and advocacy for the ALLi brand across the globe, but now it is even stronger. Find out more about the ALLi Ambassador Program in today's post. With thanks to ALLi's Ambassador Program Manager, Michael LaRonn.
The Alliance of Independent Authors is a long standing organisation for "indie" independent authors. It's mission is to uphold ethics and foster excellence in self-publishing. ALLi has a global team who, together with ambassadors and advisors worldwide, provide trusted, best-practice information and advice to the author community and provide our members with an extensive suite of benefits. If you're not a member of the organization this post explains the benefits of being part of it and why you should join the Alliance of Independent Authors.
It's hard to believe the Alliance of Independent Authors conference is already over. Twice a year the Self-Publishing Advice Conference, #SelfPubCon, is run in association with Alliance of Independent Authors. If you haven't attended, then this post will tell you how to access the conference as well as give a round up of some of the highlights.
ALLi continues our growth and expansion across the world with the announcement of our Organization Membership and our newly-revised Ambassador Program. With these announcements, we will be able to expand our reach and serve a more diverse array of independent authors, globally. Here is the organization member program and the ambassador program.
Alliance of Independent Authors member testimonials
As an authorpreneur member of the Alliance of Independent Authors (known as ALLi, pronounced like the word “ally”), you’ve already found success in writing, publishing, and distributing your self-published books. How sure are you that you’re getting the most out of your ALLi authorpreneur membership and that you know about all the resources available here? ALLi Communications Manager Boni Wagner-Stafford offers some insight.
Is there a psychology of success for indie authors?Recently I found myself, as I often do, at a writers' conference. It was a mixed event, with about half of attendees aspiring to publication and the other half evenly divided between trade-published and self-published authorsYou can always tell which is which at these get-togethers. The indies are animatedly swapping tips and tools, ideas and insights. The trade-published authors are swapping stories of the latest problem with their agent or publisher.
