Below are some helpful ALLi resources for indie authors, as mentioned in my guidebook Your Self-Publishing Questions Answered, so you can continue your learning. Almost all the resources here can be found on this website. For a full guide to ALLi resources, see ALLi's Ultimate Guide to Indie Author Resources for 2021 ALLi Members: you can find the ebook edition of my book, and all the books mentioned here, free of charge in the member zone of the ALLi Member website.
For a comprehensive overview of self-publishing, the other guidebooks in this series (Publishing Guides for Authors) cover all you need to know from the moment you finish your final draft manuscript to the moment when you've established yourself as a working authorpreneur, earning your living as an indie author.
In addition to our Publishing Guides for Authors series, ALLi does a series of Ultimate Short Guides on particular topics, like encouraging reviews, or getting your book into libraries.
Below you'll also find particular blog posts, podcast episodes, or videos on a range of topics, inspired by the questions you most often ask ALLi about self-publishing.
- AskALLi’s blog articles. These take two forms. Long “Ultimate Guide” posts that cover a key topic comprehensively, with case studies and the most up to date research. Or shorter individual case studies and opinion pieces that are generally 500 words or less. Quick reads so you can learn what you need to learn and move on.
- AskALLi’s podcast episodes. These are about 30 minutes in length—perfect while doing chores or on your commute to work. They also contain transcripts if you want to read/scan.
- Ask ALLi Live Video: We also capture our podcast video live on Facebook and YouTube, so you can watch and join in, if you dare! Do dare… as it means you can ask your questions live. ALLi’s videos are between 15-30 minutes as well, so they’re a short time commitment for long-term information.
Many of the resources in this section were contributed by ALLi Members, so if you find a resource helpful, please check out their books and consider supporting them.
We also have resources contributed by our Partner Members, who also provide paid services and tools for writers. If you like a resource, consider using them for your next service!
Enjoy, and have fun digging into the content!
