Joseph has been a guitarist and expert music tutor for over 20 years. His tuition books are published in four languages and have sold over 200,000 copies to widespread critical acclaim.

Recently his books passed $1,000,000 in revenue and he is currently writing a guide book to self-publishing for authors. There are more details at www.self-published.co.uk. He is currently writing and publishing cutting edge-material that breaks down the barriers between learning and playing the guitar.

As well as a prolific author of over 30 guitar guides, Joseph is also a publisher of up-and-coming music writers. His label, Fundamental Changes is currently accepting and publishing a wealth of new musical talent. It’s all about offering fair and generous royalty deals to talented educators.

Each month Orna Ross and a special guest answer Member’s self-publishing questions. This month we’re welcoming ALLi member Carla King into the hot-seat. 

carla-kingCarla King is the creator of the Self-Publishing Boot Camp books and workshops and founder of Author Friendly, a resource, education, and service center for self-publishers and small presses. Her comprehensive Self-Publishing Boot Camp Guide for Authors is now in its fourth edition. She has written for Bowker’s Self-Published Author, Bookworks, PBS MediaShift, and hosts a popular blog at AuthorFriendly.com. Carla also penned the Book Formatting, Book Distribution, and Book Discovery guides for IngramSpark, where she is on the advisory board.

Carla spent years as a technical writer and transitioned to travel technology journalist, freelancing for PC World and other magazines, in the early days of portable computing. This paved the way for a career as an adventure travel writer and she has contributed to many magazines and anthologies. With her writing group, the Wild Writing Women, she self-published Wild Writing Women: Stories of World Travel, in 2001, which was sold to a NY publishing house. Other books Carla has authored include Stories from Elsewhere: Travels on Two and Three Wheels and motorcycle memoir titled American Borders: A circumnavigation of the United States on a Russian sidecar motorcycle. She is working on another memoir about a solo motorcycle trip through China.

paul-teague-authorPaul Teague is the self-published author of two sci-fi/dystopian trilogies and a thriller trilogy which came out in March 2017. He has also written non-fiction books.

Paul worked at the BBC for 18 years as a radio presenter, reporter and web journalist. He works as a Digital Development Manager and corporate trainer for social and digital marketing.
