Thanks to the joys of self-publishing, and of working for The Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi), 2012 has been an amazing year for me, the best in 25 years of writing life.
Over that quarter century, I've been a freelance journalist, taught creative writing everywhere from graduate schools to rehab centres, run a writing school and a literary agency and widely published nonfiction and fiction. Never in all that time have I met a community of writers like the self-publishers it has been my privilege to serve since the Alliance started last April.
Positive, hardworking, supportive, adventurous and brave — these are not words commonly associated with writers but they certainly apply to the indie author community.
Thank you for being here, each and every one.
2013 looks set to be the best year yet for self-publishers and more on that next time.

Definitely imagine that that you stated. Your favourite reason seemed to be at
the internet the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get irked at the
same time as folks think about worries that they
plainly don’t know about. You controlled to hit the nail upon the
highest as well as defined out the entire thing without having side-effects , other people can take a signal.
