Welcome to the next blog in our series of festive posts. No matter where you are in the world or what holiday you’re celebrating, we’ve got some top gifts from ALLi members that you can give to friends, family or fellow writers. In November, we called on the ALLi membership to tell us what gifts they’d give to others. Today, we’re sharing some of our favorite gifts.
It comes as no surprise that books are at the top of the list when writers are thinking about giving gifts to family and friends.
ALLi Author Member Rachel McCollin suggested her sci-fi Christmas-themed novella, Christmas in the Multiverse: A Multiverse Investigations Unit Story which will be available for free in eBook format over the holidays, and ALLi Author Member J.L. Jarvis suggested the two latest books in her festive seven-book series, Holiday House.
But, it’s not just holiday-themed books that work well as gifts at this time of year, as ALLi Author Member Ann Richardson mentioned, when you’re looking for gifts for specific family members other books can work just a well, like her book, Celebrating Grandmothers.
I am constantly told that this is a ‘life saver’ by people trying to find an original Christmas present for a grandmother (whether their wife, mother, sister or actual grandmother).
Instead of giving books as gifts, Author Member Lesley Krier Tither has created a fun alternative that also works to bring in new readers by giving badges and small magnetic bottle openers featuring one of his MC’s catchphrases or “in-jokes” from his books as modelled by the bard himself.
ALLi Advisor Debbie Young has quite the selection of gifts to choose from this holiday season, from tiny postcard sized Christmas specials that she gives away for fun with purchases at Christmas fairs to an “Instead of a Christmas Card“ edition of two of her books, “Lighting Up Time” and “The Owl and the Turkey- or the real reason we eat turkey at Christmas“.
We also called on the ALLi Partner Members to bring you their exclusive deals and offers!
