Denise Baden set up the series of free Green Stories writing competitions in 2018 to inspire writers to create positive visions of what a sustainable society might look like, to tell stories that showcase solutions, not just problems. Her book, Habitat Man, began as an effort to illustrate what a solution-based approach might look like, and then took on a life of its own. At her characters’ insistence, she's now working on the sequel.

I thoroughly enjoyed this podcast episode and everything Denise said profoundly resonated with me. As a climate writer and educator of sorts myself I believe there is a need for what is emerging to be known as ‘ecofiction’ like never before. I also believe this a growing niche as more and more writers, educators and entertainers find there is in fact a way they can merge their creative skills and passion for sustainability to raise their voice for a higher purpose than just selling their books.
I would love to connect with Denise and also Howard, because I am strong believer and proponent of creating synergy when it comes to something as important as dealing with our environmental and climate crisis.
