Author Denise Baden

Author Member

Denise Baden is an author of eco-fiction. Yo can find out more about her on her website.

Milestone

I'm proud to have edited the anthology of 24 stories called ‘No More Fairy Tales: Stories to Save Our Planet,' which was published in Nov 2022.

Why are you Proud?

I've been wanting to work more collaboratively with other eco-fiction authors and we put this together in under a year as we were all keen to have it ready for the climate conference COP27. I was delighted to be asked to speak at several sessions at COP27 about the role of fiction in addressing the climate crisis.

What Have You Learned?

As well as editing the anthology I co-wrote 3 stories and discovered how rewarding it can be working with others who have different strengths.

LoLo Paige, Author

Author Member

LoLo Paige is an award-winning author in both romantic comedy and romantic suspense. Find them on Facebook.

Milestone

Last year I set two main goals: to become a hybrid author and grow my newsletter subscriptions. I'm now traditionally published plus I publish as an independent author and publisher. I've also tripled my newsletter subscribers, and from that, I've formed an enthusiastic group of beta readers and ARC teams.

Why are you Proud?

I hit burnout last year trying to do it all, and I overextended myself with too many writing commitments. Now, instead of reaching for shiny things, I focus on my two new goals: build my backlist, and keep growing my newsletter subscriber list organically.

What Have You Learned?

I've learned to be consistent, follow a business plan and production schedule, and stay focused on my annual goals. I've also learned not to rush writing projects.

Paul Somerville, author

Author Member

Paul Somerville is the author of YA fantasy fiction. Find out more about him on Twitter.

Milestone

Reaching number 1 in the Amazon free ebook category for Teen and YA Sword and Sorcery and overall number 53 in the Amazon best sellers for Magic Realism for Teens and YA.

Why are you Proud?

This is my debut novel – to reach number one in any list, regardless of whether it is free or not was amazing. I just wanted one person I didn't know to read and like my book. I was overwhelmed to see the downloads go viral globally over a single weekend.

What Have You Learned?

That picking the right promotion and marketing services is vital.
