One of the frustrations for authors when it comes to Amazon is that if your readers are taken to a link in one store, for example Amazon.com, but they live in another country, they’ll find a green button saying: “Kindle titles are available for (your territory’s) customers on Amazon.yourterritory. Continue shopping on the Kindle Store at Amazon.yourterritory.”
But when they click that big green link, they’re not brought to the book they’re interested in, but to Amazon’s home page for that territory.
This is definitely costing Amazon and authors lots of sales.
You can fiddle about in the browser to ensure you’re taken to the right link, which is what we’ve had to do until now. We just found this great site that allows you to link to all your Amazon stores with one link.
The base site is Authl.it. If you go there, you’ll get a screen like this in which you can enter the ASIN number of your book, as we did here, below:
And… Voila! It generates a link, in two versions long or short, which when clicked will take your readers to a screen like this one below, where they can choose which store they wish to buy from:
You’ll find this invaluable for linking books to Pinterest and other social networks.
And for yourself, when checking your book pages in overseas stores.
Hey, you’re welcome! 🙂
