Indie Authors: Get One Link To Your Book In All International Amazon Stores

One of the frustrations for authors when it comes to Amazon is that if your readers are taken to a link in one store, for example Amazon.com, but they live in another country, they'll  find a green button saying: “Kindle titles are available for (your territory's) customers on Amazon.yourterritory. Continue shopping on the Kindle Store at Amazon.yourterritory.”

But when they click that big green link, they're not brought to the book they're interested in, but to Amazon's home page for that territory.

This is definitely costing Amazon and authors lots of sales.

You can fiddle about in the browser to ensure you're taken to the right link, which is what we've had to do until now. We just found this great site that allows you to link to all your Amazon stores with one link.

The base site is Authl.it. If you go there, you'll get a screen like this in which you can enter the ASIN number of your book, as we did here, below:

And… Voila! It generates a link, in two versions long or short, which when clicked will take your readers to a screen like this one below, where they can choose which store they wish to buy from:

You'll find this invaluable for linking books to Pinterest and other social networks.

And for yourself, when checking your book pages in overseas stores.

Hey, you're welcome! 🙂

  6. I’d be remiss if I didn’t also mention the GeoRiot service as well. 🙂

We have a similar service that not only “globalizes” links for any Amazon products (including Kindle books, physical books, and author pages), but also anything in Apple’s realm (iTunes, iBooks, and the App Store). We’ve tried to make the process of building of a global link as easy as possible and we add intelligence to the link to make sure your users get the best experience possible.

Additionally, we fully support the Amazon Associates and iTunes Affiliate Programs, which allows you to earn commissions from sending users to Amazon to buy your book (and anything else they purchase during that session).

We also have some pretty awesome and detailed reporting that’s available for the data nerds out there. Oh – and we’re free. 🙂

  9. I have realized that of all forms of insurance, medical health insurance is the most dubious because of the discord between the insurance policy company’s necessity to remain making money and
the user’s need to have insurance cover. Insurance companies’ earnings on wellbeing plans have become low, therefore
some providers struggle to generate income. Thanks for the strategies you talk about through this site.

  10. This is a great tool, but, last time I checked it out, I found they insert their affiliate code in the links. Which is fine, but prevents *you* from putting in *your* code.

SmartURL provide a similar service, but you can actually put in your own affiliate code. It’s also free: http://smarturl.it

  11. I read this report with interest and have to say that the description of Amazon rerouting to Amazon of the local territory is INCORRECT. I know what I’m saying because I’m the living truth for this statement :-).

First I have to say that I’m German, still have my German Amazon and don’t have a physical Kindle but a Kindle for PC. About 2 years ago, my wife and I moved from Germany to Malta (Mediterranean) and I do get my Kindle books here in Malta downloaded to my PC without any problem. How I do it?

Here’s the procedure I simply have to do to get an Amazon Kindle book here in Malta:

    (1) I go to Amazon.com ( U.S. site).

    (2) Next I do log in to my German account from their U.S. site.

    (3) I go through the usual buyer’s routine, pay and download to my Kindle on PC.

    (4) Everything is done in less than 5 minutes. No hassle, no rerouting, no annoyance, and the confirmation comes into my local email here in Malta.

BTW, that procedure is actually placed on Amazon’s (local) websites. That’s where I got the instructions how to do this, So, I really don’t know why there is this contradicting report, complaining about rerouting and going in circles.

    1. HI Hans, that’s interesting and I’m not sure why that should be so but we know for sure that this is not everyone’s experience as we constantly receive complaints about the process, as outlined in the post. Hmmmm…. Looking forward to more comments on this.
