In just over two weeks, Book Expo America kicks off in New York. And ALLi will be joining thousands of others filling the halls of the Javits Center May 29th – May 31st, for one of the most important events of the publishing calendar.
BOOK LAUNCHES
As a prologue, Orna Ross will be joining Hugh Howey as the featured readers at the launch of Indie Authors Naked, a fantastic compendium of interviews with leading self-publishers, joint venture between Authors Unbound and IndieReader.
Consider yourself invited to Entwine Wine Bar in NYC on Tuesday 27th May at 7pm EST, where you can meet fellow/sister ALLi members, other self-publishing luminaries, and hear Orna and Hugh read.
And collect your ALLi pin, if you haven’t already got one.
CHOOSING A SELF PUBLISHING SERVICE 2014
As well as meeting our members and providing self-publishing education, the main focus of BEA 2014 for ALLi is launching the update of our guidebook, Choosing A Self Publishing Service (see our preview post on the Self-Publishing Advice blog, where we’d love to hear about your self publishing service — the good, the bad and the vanity.
Members: your free copy of the Guide with be with you shortly and it will be available from next week on Amazon, Kobo and all good etailers.
BEA SEMINARS
Catch Orna on Friday 30th May at 10am, talking to the authors at the BEA Author Hub about the benefits of member organisations and collaborations for authors — launching the new book and revealing the winner of our overall Best Self-Publishing Service award for 2014.
And the following day, Sat 31st May, again at 10am Orna will be joining Stephen Spatz of Book Baby, Hugh Howey and Mark Lefebvre of Kobo for a special uPublishU panel, where they’ll be explore how authors can choose the best publishing path.
If you're in NYC, we'd love to see you at BEA but we know than many of you can't make it and, as always, these events will be filmed for broadcast later.
