In a few short days, some of the Alliance of Independent Authors Team will be making their various ways to Frankfurt Book Fair, ALLi’s first time there. We’ll be taking part in events, meeting up with other author-publishers, scoping out new opportunities for our members and introducing lots of new potential partners to our Self-Publishing Directory…
The ALLi Self-Publishing Directory is here
We’re delighted to be showcasing our Self-Publishing Directory at Frankfurt. This online publication is the first of its kind – a credible resource dedicated to helping authors find the perfect publishing service.
With a mix of articles, reviews and listings, it’s a complete and bi-annually updated guide that any author can dip into, and assemble a crack team of publishing professionals. All services are Partner Members of ALLi, vetted by our Watchdog and adhering to ALLi’s code of standards.
We’ll have more on the directory next week, when it will launch online right here, but in the meantime, any of our current partner members who would like to participate in feedback, please drop us a line at [email protected].
Similarly, if you are an author-service provider interested in joining ALLi as a Partner and listing your services in the directory, please get in touch. We’d love to hear from you.
Events and Meetups at Frankfurt Book Fair
ALLi is appearing as part of the Self-Publishing and Author programme at Frankfurt. Director Orna Ross is sharing our members’ self-publishing success stories at a special panel talk chaired by Alison Baverstock.
Orna will also be appearing as part of a publishing industry masterclass for younger publishing professionals, arguing for a publishing world that is not just about the sales, using her experiences as an author-publisher who left corporate publishing for the creative freedom of going indie.
If you are also making your way to Frankfurt, let us know and we’ll give you details of our meetup.
ALLi Insights Seminar on Film Rights
Online events keep rolling in the meantime. Our next Insights Seminar, on Wed 8th October, will focus on emerging opportunities in the world of dramatic rights. Orna will be joined by Nat Mundel of Voyage Media, who’ll be taking your questions and providing an overview of the processes involved in taking a book to Hollywood — something every indie would love. But this can be an expensive business and not all books are suitable for screen. Join Orna and Nat to find out more.
More information on the event and how to join can be found here.

Hi Jane, all relinked and let me know if you have any problems with that one.
The link to the event is broken…please re-link here and also publicize on the Facebook group as this sounds like a must. Film rights are one of those things every author dreams of but I don’t think many of us understand how the process works!
