The Alliance of Independent Authors was founded at the 2012 London Book Fair and has had a presence at the fair each year since. Today, we're outlining some of the live events ALLi will be involved in at the 2023 London Book Fair.
The London Book Fair (LBF) is a global marketplace for story creators and in their own words the publishing industry’s “essential spring chapter”. The Alliance of Independent Authors (ALLi) launched there, at the 2012 London Book Fair, we represent the interests of independent authors on the LBF advisory board, and ALLi returns yearly to present the latest self-publishing trends and advice at the fair.
This year sees us provide live panel sessions for self-publishing authors at the Writers' Summit and Author HQ on 18 and 19th April, and we'll have the ALLi member party, sponsored by Amazon KDP, on the evening of Wednesday 18th.

ALLi will host panel sessions at the Author HQ and Writers’ Summit, as follows:
- Tuesday, April 18th – from 13:00 to 13:45, Melissa Addey, Dan Wood and Thad McIlroy will launch the Findings from ALLi’s Independent Author Income Survey. (Author HQ)
- Wednesday, April 19th – from 10:00 to 10:30, ALLi director Orna Ross joins Joanna Penn and Ethan Ellenberg for a talk on Tech-Powered Authors and the Future of Publishing. (Author HQ)
- Wednesday, April 19th – from 15:15 to 16:00, Orna Ross chairs a panel of authors and experts, including Sacha Black, Dan Wood, JD Kirk, and Clare Lydon: In Conversation with Self-Publishing Experts. (Writers’ Summit, Kensington Town Hall)
ALLi's drinks party, sponsored by Amazon KDP, will take place on Wednesday 19th April at The Hand & Flower (Hammersmith Road) from 6pm-8pm. All ALLi members and friends are welcome.
We'll also be at the Selfie’s Award Winners’ Presentation in Authors HQ at the London Book Fair on Day 1, Tuesday 18th April, between 5-5.30pm.
