LIVE MEMBER WELLBEING SESSION: Working With Yourself, Not Against Yourself

July 7 @ 7:00 PM - 8:00 PM

Working With Yourself, Not Against Yourself

ALLi's Member Wellbeing Sessions are a bi-monthly space for members to step back from the pressures of writing and publishing, together, to reconnect with a healthier, more sustainable creative practice.

Hosted by ALLi’s Campaigns Lead, Melissa Addey, and Sarah Begley, ALLi's member desk lead, these gently structured sessions combine grounding reflection with honest conversation about the emotional realities of author life.

This session explores the success factors that help neurodivergent and cognitively impaired authors thrive – and why those insights apply to every one of us.

We'll open with a f-r-e-e-writing prompt to get you grounded, then explore together:

  • What ‘time, space and grace' actually means as a daily practice — and why so many of us deny ourselves all three

  • The neurodivergent author experience: late diagnoses, working styles, and what the community said when asked honestly

  • Working with your natural rhythms and neurology rather than fighting them

  • Why strategies designed for neurodivergent authors often turn out to be good practice for everyone

This is a space to be honest about how you actually work — not how you think you should.

We know that writing and publishing never get easy, so members at all levels are welcome. Participation is encouraged, but never required. You're welcome to share as much or as little as feels right.
