We want to show off some of the great author-published books that are appearing all over the world at the moment — and particularly the work of our amazingly talented members.

Independent authors are producing exciting, experimental and edgy fiction and nonfiction and multimedia works and we can prove it.

So we have an exciting new campaign called Read an Indie coming up, facilitated by Joni Rodgers of the vlog review site, I'll Have What She's Reading,; Kathy Meis of Bublish, a neat author platform; and Amy Edelman of Indie Reader.

Here's how it will work.

  • Our panel will meet by Google Hangout once a month to select a long-list of eleven great indie books from  nominations by themselves, IndieBrag Medallion, Awesome Indies, Compulsive Reads, our members and indie friends and readers.

  • The list will then be whittled down to a shortlist of three for readers to vote.

  • The book with the most votes will be ALLi's Book of the Month for that month, receiving a prize and a badge for their author website.

  • Readers who vote for the winning book get a free copy and chance of being chosen for a spot prize.

  • The longlist & the winning book are featured on the front page of ALLi Website, in our #WW Showcase and our newsletter, as well as on Indie Reader, Bublish and I’ll Have What She’s Reading Raves & Recommendations.
  • Prizes are sponsored by Kobo.

We're setting up the technology right now. In the meantime, if you'd like to make a nomination, go here.
