I’d appreciate some advice on how to assert copyright if you are intend to self-publish under pseudonym. How does the pseudonym link to the real-life legal personal of the author?

A pseudonym is covered by copyright law, just ensure you can prove you are the author, writing pseudonymously. If you are registering copyright and writing under a pseudonym, give your legal name AND your pseudonym when filling out your application. In many countries, registration is not necessary. Using a pen name can sometimes complicate matters of advances and royalties in trade publishing deals, as well as the sale of reprint and subsidiary rights. In the case of dispute, you may need legal advice. However, this is very rare. For working purposes, you can use your pen name safe in the knowledge that it does not affect your copyright, especially as an indie author — your legal name/company name on your account, with your pen-name on your books dashboard, is all the proof you need that copyright is yours.

All of these publishing rights represent potential readers and income but each market offers different opportunities and operates by different rules. How are writers to find their way without a team of experts and lawyers?
