IndieReCon was a dream ignited by a discussion with the Indelibles last year. We'd been getting tons of questions on #indiechat and on our blogs about self publishing.
A question was posed – how can we give back to the indie community and help other authors curious about indie publishing?Â
An answer popped up – a free online conference to help educate and support indie authors, talking them through the A-Z.
From that initial discussion and prompting question, IndieReCon was born.
Over the last 6 months, I and your hosts (Ali, Heather, Jessie, Laura, and Cheri) have been working hard to gather awesome speakers, amazing giveaways, and supportive partners.
It's been a lot of work and we've loved every minute of it, knowing it was our way of helping writers find a way.Â
Making indie publishing a mission possible.
At some point, IndieReCon took on a life of it's own with people offering to donate, speakers eager to join in, and partners happy to sign on and help spread the word.
So this free conference is a gift from us to you.
* To any writer curious about what it takes to indie publish.
* To any writer wanting to understand the pros and cons.
* To any writer looking to connect and learn from their home.
* To any writer who has embarked on the publishing process and wants to learn more.
* To any writer or author wanting to learn how to get from book to bestseller.
* To any writer who is curious how bestsellers make it to the top.
This conference is for all of you.
Over the next few days, we will have posts, vlogs, videos, giveaways, and live chats that will fill up nearly every hour (sometimes half-hour) of the day.
Thanks for joining in and we hope you have a blast and learn more than you ever expected. 🙂
~ Shelli

*wanders in bleary eyed, grabs a cup of virtual coffee and a pixelated donut before taking a seat* “Welcome to this week’s meeting of Chocoholics Anonymous. I see many new faces out there. If you’re here for the Indie publishing conference, it’s across the hall.” Oops, wrong room. *sneaks across the hall, fuzzy bunny slippers squeaking on the linoleum tile, and takes a seat in the CORRECT room, and reads the welcome post* Excited to see and learn from the first IndieReCon. Also excited since this is the first conference I’ve been to where I can be dressed to the nines in my Birthday Suit and no one cares. Thanks for all your work, all y’all.

Congrats on getting this all organized. It sounds like a great conference. I’m always amazed how the self-published writer community is so willing to share all they’ve learned with the rest of us. Looking forward to checking out some of the posts because I think they’ll be helpful whether or not I chose to self-publish some daya.
