I'm interviewed today (and for the rest of the week) on a Canadian blog – author John Dutton's “Sitting at your Desk isn't Work”. John contacted me after my feature in the Guardian. My answers to his Qs were long so he's divided the interview into several blog posts.

Need motivation and inspiration to self-publish, or sign that contract with an interested small press? Have you done all the research you can, but still feel ambivalent about the idea? Indiestructible: Inspiring Stories from the Publishing Jungle brings you the experiences of 29 indie authors—their passions, their insights, their successes—to help you make the leap into indie publishing.Edited & Compiled: by Jessica Bell
This is not a how-to guide. This is the best of the indie tradition of experienced authors paying forward what they’ve learned, giving you information to help you on your journey. The personal essays in this book will leave you itching to get your work into the hands of readers and experience, first-hand, all the rewards indie publishing has to offer.
Not only is this anthology packed full of interesting, unique, and genuinely helpful information, and totally worth the 99c (only 99c!!!), 100% of proceeds will be donated to BUILDON.org, a movement which breaks the cycle of poverty, illiteracy, and low expectations through service and education.

I've just published my second book of the year – it's called This We Are and I'd love to offer it as a freebie in Kindle or epub format to ALLi members in exchange for feedback and reviews
It's only 17k words so doesn't take long to read, with nice short chapters too.

With hundreds of thousands of books available in places like Amazon, it goes without saying that the onus is on you to get the reader's attention!
Book trailers can help your book stand out from the crowd and with readers increasingly expecting to see them, they offer the potential to both capture attention and inspire.
For any of ALLi authors who want to do a book trailer – COS Productions are one of the biggest.
Natalie Buske Thomas
Project Scarecrow (The Serena Wilcox Time Travel Trilogy, Book 1) by Natalie Buske Thomas has been launched. Project Scarecrow is Volume 7 of The Serena Wilcox Mysteries, book 1 of the third trilogy in the series
Project Scarecrow themes are time travel, Einstein, 1900's, World War 1, Argonne, The Monster Study, murder mystery, espionage, ethics in science, and offbeat humour.
The Project Scarecrow trailer was great fun to put together. Graphics were created especially for this project, right down to the details (for example, the “data” on the whiteboard was copied directly from Chapter 1).
Christine Nolfi
Heart-warming, inspiring–if you're looking for a feel-good read with comedy and romance, enter the GoodReads giveaway for Christine Nolfi's latest release, The Dream You Make. For U.S. and Canadian readers. Giveaway ends Sept 30th.

Could you highlight my latest blog on Wednesday's newsletter? We are running a short story competition in aid of the charity organisation that provides support for adults with Autism in Ireland. Funding for our organisation (ASDI) has been and continues to be cut, so the proceeds from this competition will help to keep the service afloat. If it's a success, we will run it again in future years. The prizes are (potentially) big.
Chele Cooke
My first book, Dead and Buryd (which is the first book of a series,) will be released on the 5th of October.
There will be a launch event at Big Green Bookshop in Wood Green on the 5th of October, at 6:30pm. All details can be found on the event page on Facebook.
If ALLi members would like to attend, please let me know via the event page (if for any reason they can't click ‘attending') – As I need to know numbers.
