What Can an Editor Do for Me? Panel Discussion
Editors are the secret, unsung nurturers of the book world. What do they do? How do they work with authors? How do you choose a good one? Do authors even need them? This and many more insights into the editing world in a lively discussion. Do join us.
If you’ve ever wondered what it is an editor does, and what an editor can do to transform your work, then this session is for you. Chaired by experienced editor Roz Morris, together with Andrew Lowe, Ricardo Fayet, and Laxmi Harahan, this session will lift the lid on the editing process, warts and all.
Roz Morris published nearly a dozen novels and achieved sales of more than 4 million copies – and nobody saw her name because she was a ghostwriter. She is now proudly publishing as herself with two acclaimed literary novels My Memories of a Future Life and Lifeform Three. She has also been a writing coach, editor and mentor for more than 20 years with award-winning authors among her clients. She has a book series for writers, Nail Your Novel (and a blog ), and teaches creative writing masterclasses for The Guardian newspaper in London. She has a show on Surrey Hills Radio, So You Want To Be A Writer. Find her books here.
Roz is giving away two print copies of “Nail Your Novel: Why Writers Abandon Books and how you can Draft, Fix and Finish With Confidence.”
In 10 easy steps Nail Your Novel will tell you how to shape your big idea and make a novel out of it, how to do your research and how to use it, how to organise your time, how to plot and build characters, how to write on the days you don’t feel inspired, and how to reread what you’ve written and polish it.
