What if you could promote your books simply by telling stories? It seems like a natural fit – you’re a storyteller, after all. That was the concept that got Kathy Meis thinking and brought her to create Bublish. Now an ALLi Partner Member, Kathy explains how it works.

Behind every story you write for your books there are many more stories. These are the personal stories of your life as a writer – like the moment of inspiration for your first book, funny and frustrating hours spent with those early drafts, people you’ve met that have shaped your characters, late night rewrites, the whys and hows of your writing, your failures and triumphs.

These are the stories behind your stories. Readers love them, and Bublish can help you celebrate and share them across the social Web.

Bublish is the free social book discovery and commerce platform that is revolutionizing how writers share their stories and readers find books they’ll love. The platform enables you to promote your work through storytelling, which leads to emotional connection and a high level of reader engagement. This in turn provides context as readers swim through a sea of books in today’s content abundant world.

At the heart of the Bublish platform is the book bubble:self publishing book bubble

Notice that on a single screen, readers can enjoy an excerpt from your book, a synopsis, your bio and photo, the book’s cover art, links to your website and an “author insight.” It’s in the author insight that you get to share the story behind your story. Think of it like a director's cut for your book.

Book bubbles are also designed for today's visual Web. Your writing remains at the center of each book bubble, but it’s wrapped in a beautiful, visually pleasing design. When people are overwhelmed with choices visual cues help them sort through information quickly.

With book bubbles, authors can create original, highly engaging content in seconds and share it across multiple social channels where readers can enjoy it and share it with their networks.

Over time, this “network effect” helps authors start conversations with new readers and build their fan base.

  1. Hi, the only book I have published was only in Wattpad, does that qualified me to promote my book and myself in Bublish too?
Thanks, and by the way, this website offers an excellent idea. 😉

  2. Um, I think I love this! It was sooo easy and it looks great.
One question… If I want to share to facebook but I want it on a page I manage, rather than my timeline, is there a way to do that, like with instagram? I couldn’t see any settings options for that. I’d really rather share on my book page, not my personal timeline.
    Thanks.

  3. Scott has written three books: Life II, an occasion travel novel; Seeking Dr. Magic, a novel that imagines what are the results whenever a powerful wizard comes of aging as being a kid, and wreaks his havoc on the planet, that is yet unaware of his existence; and You Know You?re Thin When?, a humor book using large single panel cartoons.

  4. You are most welcome, Gregory. We look forward to helping your share your stories with new readers. If anyone has follow up questions, please don’t hesitate to email us at info [at] bublish [dot] com.

  5. Thank you very much Ms. Meis for your detailed response to my query and the promptness in your reply. You’ve won my confidence. I’ll upload the full text of my book ASAP. Thank you again, I think you have a wonderful idea here in Bublish.

  6. Quick addition to my last comment. Rest assured that no one has access to your book except for you. Readers only see the bubbles that you create and publish. Your book is stored safely in the Amazon Cloud. The same place Amazon stores its digital books. Hope that helps.

  7. Hi everyone. Thanks for your interest and questions. Gregory, to answer your question about uploading your entire book. The only real requirement is that your book file be in the ePub format. That’s what allows Bublish to work its magic and auto-generate the book bubble. Most authors upload the entirety of their book on to Bublish. This allows them to create book bubbles around excerpts from anywhere in their book. However, you can create an ePub with only sample files from your book and upload that to Bublish. We do have a few authors who have done that. I hope this answers your question. Feel free to ask more. Thanks for your interest in Bublish!
