    1. Yes, finding your audience and then starting that continual cycle of Marketing and Promotion is key for any author. We’ll definitely be covering this topic heavily.

  1. My inbox is full of people trying to tell my how to write a book in a weekend and sell my “content”. Most of it is related to non-fiction, informational stuff. It seems like alot of the advice I’ve found on finding your audience (initial finding, not netting them into a newsletter) is from a couple years ago and I haven’t heard that blog tours and the like are working as they used to. Either I’m looking at the wrong advice, or something; but maybe a panel for new fiction authors?

    1. Hi RC … we’ve got an exciting series of guest blog posts from Orna Ross, that are being featured on the NaNoWriMo website later this year … and we’ll also be releasing a series of e-books aimed at new fiction authors .. basically taking the stance of “You’ve just finished the first draft of your Fiction …. now what?” – which will take authors through the remaining stages of writing and through the 7 stages of publishing.

Our Indie Author Fringe will also have topics aimed at new authors and those more seasoned.

  2. I would like to know more about independent authors rights when optioning their books for TV and film. What steps do they need to take for negotiating a contract? Are there particular ways for an author to protect their book beforehand if they foresee this as part of their overall way of ‘exploiting’ their work?

  3. Please keep me apprised of the above-metioned workshops in self-publishing; i’m at , and I’m a member of ALLi.
