Connecting Authors and Readers: Introducing our first Goodreads ALLi Social

ALLi_Social_Goodreads1_SquareAhead of our website launch and another big announcement that's coming to you later this week (we do so love to intrigue!), we're pleased today to introduce a new ALLi event focusing on the connection we all treasure the most – that between the author, and the reader.

ALLi Social is a monthly Goodreads online chat, which will debut this Saturday, November 15th.

Headed up by Goodreads and Twitter whizz, Christine Nolfi, this event is an exciting experiment in cross-pollination for our members.

Ten members will take part in this pilot, pooling books for giveaways and volunteering time to introduce their readers  to each other.

For readers, it's an exciting opportunity to discover new authors and hang out with the ones you love.

For writers, it's a fantastic way to connect with other members of the ALLi community across the world, and find new readers for your books.

Each event (which will become a monthly feature, if it succeeds) will be themed and the first is all about “Strong Heroines, Unlikely Heroines, and Stereotypes of Women in Fiction”. You can find out more here.

There will be paperback giveaways in a variety of genres: suspense novels sure to keep you on the edge of your seat, contemporary literature to warm your heart and literary gems from authors across the globe from ten of our bestselling and prize-winning members, (cue drum roll!):

  • Rasana Atreya
  • Jessica Bell
  • Bette Lee Crosby
  • Linda Gillard
  • S.R. Johannes
  • Christine Nolfi
  • J.F. Penn
  • Joni Rodgers
  • Orna Ross
  • Patricia Sands

You can join in the discussion group right now. The pre-chat has already started in advance of the event – and do share the goings-on via your social platform of choice: http://bit.ly/1sxEKwh

We hope you'll join us on Saturday and add your voice to the conversation!
